Lions roar, elephants dance, roosters whistle, and fossils clatter in this brilliant version of Carnival of the Animals. (Many people know this music from Disney’s movie Fantasia 2000.) Join us as The Youth Ballet Company interprets humorous animal poems that complement Saint-Saëns’ musical composition through dance.

The Tortoise and the Hare, Aesop’s most beloved fable, is set to original music by composer/conductor Stephen Simon. This fun production includes a new adaption of The Tortoise and the Hare story by Bonnie Ward Simon: With his natural talent and new running shoes, Hare is certain that he will win the race. Feeling the hat is in the bag, so to speak, he stops at a little French bistro along the route for some French onion soup. Meanwhile, all the small animals in the forest cheer poor, slow Tortoise along, while Hare, who is way out in front, decides to take a nap…

CARMEN.maquia is a striking reinterpretation of Bizet’s opera through contemporary dance and modernist design. Choreographed by Gustavo Ramírez Sansano, this production sheds the opera’s familiar tropes to reveal Carmen as a symbol of autonomy and raw human emotion. Set against a minimalist, Picasso-inspired backdrop, the work blends ballet, flamenco, and contemporary movement into a powerful meditation on identity, passion, and defiance.
