The Youth Acting Company is our resident performance company and was created to give young, capable actors performance opportunities throughout the year.
The company is comprised of students between the ages of 14 and 18. Actors are selected for this company by audition. Students rehearse for three intimate performances/presentations a year in three blocks (fall, winter and spring). Students must attend two or more rehearsals per week while in session. Performances may take place on stage, in studio, at the BrickBox, or other informal area venues.
In addition, Youth Acting Company members are granted automatic acceptance into the Youth Summer Program at The Hanover Theatre.
We aim to expand a student’s horizons by providing them with the opportunity to work with three different directors, in three or more spaces while being exposed to three different styles of performance, all in a single season.
Company Requirements:
- Enrolled in two or more classes per week throughout the year (any genre, but one acting class minimum per semester)
- Attend rehearsals as scheduled (up to five times per week)
- Perform with full energy, desire, and commitment, sometimes twice in a day
- Commit to all three sessions for the year
25/26 Audition Information
Open auditions for the resident Youth Acting Company were held on Thursday, August 28, 2025. Students in grades 9-12 were encouraged to audition. Auditions took place at The Hanover Theatre Conservatory, located at 551 Main Street, Worcester, MA.
About the Audition:
During the audition, students will be in small groups. Then individually, they will be asked to present a 1-minute monologue and a 32-bar cut of a song from the musical theatre canon. Students can prepare any monologue and song of their choice. All students should bring a picture of themselves printed on an 8×10 piece of paper (headshot) to the audition.
The 2025-2026 rehearsal and performance schedule can be found HERE.
Invited students will be expected to enroll in two classes at the conservatory for the 2025-2026 school year.
Financial aid and scholarship opportunities are available for those who qualify.
