Mid-Century & Beyond Part II on the Mighty Wurlitzer with Dr. Kleefield
March 15th 2026, 2:00 pm
1 hour 30 min
Resident organist, Dr. Jonathan Kleefield returns to the main stage with a new concert!
Following a very successful reception of the first part of this program in November 2025, Dr. Kleefield will be performing an all new presentation. Featured will be medleys of songs made famous by The Beach Boys, Simon and Garfunkel as well as the Carpenters, with additional tributes to iconic artists including Linda Ronstadt and Dionne Warwick. As always, Dr. Kleefield will share extensive commentary, giving audiences meaningful context for the music he’ll be performing. It is almost certain that you will recognize at least some of the tunes, and singing along is greatly encouraged! It promises to be a fun, family-friendly show.
The Mighty Wurlitzer, assembled and gifted to the theatre by Donald Phipps, is recognized as one of the cultural jewels of Worcester. Phipps, Kleefield and the Mighty Wurlitzer were recently highlighted on WGBH’s, The Culture Show. As a board director of the Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the American Theatre Organ Society, Phipps followed in the footsteps of our theatre’s founders, with his vision of restoring a treasured piece of our heritage and culture.
