Main Stage

March 22nd 2026, 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm

Join us on March 22nd for a special space‑themed event celebrating the 100th anniversary of humanity’s first modern rocket launch—achieved by Worcester’s own Dr. Robert H. Goddard, the “Father of the Space Age.”

We’ll explore Goddard’s visionary legacy and the lasting impact of his work on science, engineering and space exploration. We’ll also hear from scientists and astronauts in person and from across the country—our “Today’s Goddards”—who have carried his torch pushing the boundaries of human knowledge. And together, we’ll honor and help inspire our “Tomorrow’s Goddards,” who, like Goddard himself, dare to dream big and envision an extraordinary future.

Goddard: Father of the Space Age is a celebratory event and the culmination of a week-long series of events celebrating Goddard’s successful launch of the first modern rocket 100 years ago. For more information on this and the week-long series visit: firstlaunchcentennial.org
