Elementary Tap (Ages 5-7)

A tap dance instructor for Elementary Tap (Ages 5-7) wearing all black demonstrates a move with one foot up between two young students in pale leotards.

An introduction to tap for girls and boys.

Tap is an exciting and challenging art form that developed out of African polyrhythms in America’s Jazz Age. Students learn beginner basics of tap including how to shuffle, flap and hop to the rhythm of the music. Tap shoes required. This class will perform in Spring Reflection scheduled for May 18, 2025.

Two children are seen from the knees down, wearing tap shoes and stepping on a smooth surface. One child wears black shoes with frilled socks, and the other wears beige shoes with plain white socks. The background is simple with a light-toned floor and wall.
