Sketch Comedy Lab (Ages 18+)

Three people stand in a dance studio, extending their arms forward and smiling or laughing. They are wearing casual clothing, and the background features a ballet barre and black curtains.

This class will take elements from improv, clowning, stand-up comedy and drama to create a foundation for sketch writing.

Students will be asked to create a 35-50 minute show, with a goal of 8 or more pre-written and rehearsed sketches. All writing and revising will be completed during classroom sessions (no homework). Coursework will include: pitch meetings, drawing inspiration, revision, team writing, show building and performance standards. The semester will culminate in an informal presentation.
