When purchasing tickets, please be sure to mention if you require any special accommodations, including wheelchair accessible seating, visual or hearing impairment, limited mobility, etc.

 

Wheelchair accessibility: Parking spaces immediately in front of the theatre and adjacent to the Federal Courthouse on Southbridge Street are reserved for vehicles displaying a handicapped parking permit; the Worcester Police detail stationed in front of the theatre will be happy to assist you. An elevator provides access to lower and upper lobbies, and orchestra and balcony seating. Accessible bathrooms are located on each level.
Accessible Seating: Spaces are reserved near the front of the orchestra for patrons who use wheelchairs and for their ambulatory companions.


American Sign LanguageThe Hanover Theatre is pleased to offer ASL interpretation at a select number of performances. ASL interpretation allows deaf and hearing impaired patrons to experience the joys of live theater through the use of ASL interpreters throughout the show.

ASL interpretation will be offered during select Sunday performances of Broadway Series shows and at select performances of the annual production of A Christmas Carol.

 

Audio Description: The Hanover Theatre is pleased to offer a limited number of audio described performances in collaboration with the Audio Journal. Audio description allows blind and low-vision audience members to experience all of the wonderment and subtle nuances that live theater has to offer.

Audio description will be available during select Sunday performances of Broadway Series shows and at select performances of the annual production of A Christmas Carol. Audio described performances are made possible through the generosity of the Memorial Foundation for the Blind and the Audio Journal. Assistive Listening Devices are available at the box office. You will be asked to leave your driver's license as a deposit when borrowing an assistive listening device. After the performance, return the listening device and retrieve your license at the lobby concierge desk.

 

Autism-friendly performance: This year, The Hanover Theatre is proud to be working with the New England Chapter of Autism Speaks to host a performance of A Christmas Carol.   This performance on December 22 is intended as a unique theatre experience for individuals and families impacted by autism.  The performance will happen in a supportive, judgment-free environment, and other accommodations of support will be provided, including a quiet area if individuals and families need a break from the experience and trained staff and volunteers to assist with patrons’ needs.  We encourage all those impacted by autism to join us.
