Give Access to the Arts.

Your generosity supports every aspect of our mission

Subscriptions and ticket sales only cover a portion of the cost of presenting our mainstage season, conservatory programs and engagement programs. We rely on the support of generous individuals and organizations to make all of these activities possible. Donations to The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory at any level have a direct impact and help to ensure that the performing arts continue to thrive in Worcester.

Gifts to The Hanover Theatre Fund are an especially effective way to show your support.

Access to the Arts

We are committed to ensuring that young people in our community have access to the transformative power of the performing arts.

Your gift to the Access to the Arts Fund provides vital support for our school partnerships, community engagement activities, and Conservatory programs that serve more than 15,000 young people every year, many of whom would otherwise not have opportunities to participate in the arts.  You can learn more about the activities supported by the Access to the Arts Fund here:

The Hanover Theatre Repertory Fund

A new initiative, The Hanover Theatre Repertory (THT Rep) is committed to engaging, entertaining and energizing audiences with dynamic theatrical events made in and for Worcester. THT Rep is bringing an exciting new voice to Worcester’s thriving cultural scene. Your donation will support productions of classics, modern classics and classics-inspired works that showcase artists from across the region and our own community.

The Donald Phipps Mighty Wurlitzer Fund

Help secure an iconic piece of America’s musical history.

The Hanover Theatre’s Mighty Wurlitzer is the largest theatre pipe organ in New England. Once a fixture in luxurious vaudeville theatres and movie palaces across the country, today these magnificent instruments have largely disappeared. Thanks to the extraordinary dedication and generosity of Donald Phipps and a dedicated group of volunteers, The Hanover Theatre is now home to a majestic 2,500-pipe theatre pipe organ that can be heard on our silent movie nights, in our annual production of A Christmas Carol, and at special events throughout the year.

Assembled and donated to the theatre by Donald Phipps, the Mighty Wurlitzer is recognized as one of the cultural jewels of the city.  A board director of the Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the American Theatre Organ Society, Phipps and his passion in restoring the Wurlitzer Organ follows in the footsteps of our theatre’s founders, with their vision of restoring a treasured piece of our history and celebrating our cultural heritage.

Your gift to the Mighty Wurlitzer Fund provides support for the stewardship of this rare instrument for the Worcester community.

Scholarship Fund

Providing outstanding training in the arts.

Participation in the arts has a profound and far-reaching developmental and emotional impact on young people, and too many families in our community do not have access to arts programming in or out of school. Each year, The Hanover Theatre Conservatory provides need-based scholarships for classes and programs that offer performance opportunities and training in theatre, dance, music and technical theatre & design. Gifts to the Scholarship Fund help to make these transformative experiences available to young people who would otherwise be unable to participate.

Gifts of $1,000 or more are eligible for named scholarship recognition. Contact Veronica Bailey, development operations manager, at 508.471.1772 or [email protected] with any questions.

Worcester Center for Performing Arts is a registered not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, which owns and operates The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts.  All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law

We really had no expectations regarding the performance that we were about to see. We thought that we would hear a few tunes highlighting the Wurlitzer… What we got was a delightful evening of true entertainment. We sat there and were totally enthralled with what we saw and heard. It was a wonderful show and we left with a greater appreciation of The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts and a further endorsement of why we have chosen to support The Hanover Theatre.
